The Drifter is a two seater aircraft that is certified in the primary category by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, Australia.

The Drifter has been operating in Australia since the early 1980’s with approximately 500 built and sold. The aircraft has undergone several phases of development and some aircraft in the field are now approaching 10,000 hours of operation.

The aircraft has a long history of safe operation and has a reputation of being reliable, economical and robust.

The Drifter is manufactured by an Australian company, Drifter Aircraft Pty Ltd in Queensland, Australia.

February 2008:  What's Happening?

Drifter Aircraft intended to commence full production in March 2007.  Due to personnel problems, and a mining boom in the area causing extreme labour shortages,  we have had to rethink our manufacturing and production strategies.

However we have still produced five new aircraft as well as a number of rebuilds, parts and sail assemblies, and made some significant improvements which will be incorporated in all new Drifters.

Despite the delay we are committed and excited to be bringing one of the world's best, safest and fun aircraft back into the market.

We intend to be fully operational by late 2008 and in the meantime we'll do all that we can to help anyone needing parts or assistance with any Drifter Aircraft.
